Le Petit Gâteau is a French-inspired bakery, pastry shop, and custom cake studio. We are more than just bakers...we are pastry artists! Everything we create is done with taste and appearance in mind.
Our talented team is always innovating new creations to be added to our menu. You'll find seasonal items made with fresh berries in the spring, citrus fruits in the summer, and pumpkin and fall spices in autumn.
We take our inspiration from locations around the world that make the best food such as our French Baguette, San Francisco-Style Sourdough Bread, and New York-Style Bagels. Our award-winning cakes have been featured in magazines and are custom tailored for your event.
Chef Chris Holland is a graduate of both the culinary program and fine arts program at Ivy Tech. He trained at several bakeries in Indianapolis and worked as a pastry chef instructor before deciding to open his own bakery in 2019.
Le Petit Gâteau (meaning “the small cake” in French) was created to bring you delicious pastries, breads, cakes, and desserts with artistic finishes to impress at first look and first bite.

Tried Almond Croissant from Le Petit Gateau after a great deal of recommendation from a friend, I would say it’s totally worth the hype. It’s flakey, fresh and perfectly sweet and well paired with a cup of coffee. Also, tried their crème brulle croissant too, the custard was so mild and tasted perfect. I would ... definitely go back to other the other items.☺️ Read More
I often enjoy fabulous pastries while sipping coffee here, but I felt compelled to review after purchasing a cake. It is a gorgeous cake, decorated beautifully. The flavor was fantastic, as was the texture. I got vanilla cake with strawberry jam and Italian buttercream frosting. It was perfect in every way and ... absolutely worth the price. Read More
The wedding cake we ordered at the last minute was beautiful and delicious! The staff was friendly and exceptional at helping to create a unique yet traditional gorgeous, exquisite wedding cake.
Le Petit Gateau has the most delicious baked goods. The smell of deliciousness hits you over the head the minute you walk in thebuilding. Their croissants are spectacular! Just finished a ham and cheese croissant very reasonable priced at $5.50. Service is efficient and friendly. I highly recommend this place. ... And even better, it shares a space with Indie Coffee Roasters - quite arguably the best coffee in Carmel! Read More
I was eager to check this place out. Signage isn’t great-it’s accessible via the residential main entrance. The case isn’t huge, but I tried the cinnamon roll croissant, almond croissant, a hazelnut chocolate mousse thing, and a blueberry mousse thing, with yuzu gele and a honey brittle. All very good! There’s a ... coffee shop, too. Nice interior and outdoor lounge space. Read More
Their tiramisu is, quite simply, beyond words — rich, delicate, and absolutely unforgettable. We usually stop by just for that, it’s become a little tradition. I also like to grab a few croissants to take home — the raspberry cheesecake danish is a favorite, and this time we tried the crème brûlée croissant (and wow, ... what a treat). Read More
I was craving chocolate and like rich good chocolate and who can’t think of Le Petit Gateau. It’s a bakery within Indy coffee roasters and they mostly take orders but they also have a good variety of breads, croissants, brownies and muffins so you may get lucky with what you are craving for. Atleast that’s my ... experience. Service was pretty quick and I ordered and left in less than 5 minutes Read More
Some friends took my wife to the Fishers farmers market yesterday, and they took her straight to Chris for good reason. The English muffins are fantastic. Soft and pillowy even after toasting, exactly the right amount of salt, and split easily by hand. The croissant I tried last night (before she got the rest of it!) ... was also delicious — flaky, buttery, lightly sweet. So glad we got this recommended. Read More
